With regards to the Animal Farm quotations, i really want to get the concept of the book across to the viewer. Animal Farm is generally an angry, depressing and bloody book. Therefore when coming up with ideas i have been trying to get that level across. So immediately thinking red, strong fonts and defined elements within sayings.
For the two posters i want to have the same process but different elements. So i have been working on trying to create different effects with the same font. The two ideas i have had is using visual hierarchy to come across to the viewer.
By firstly covering the text with the quote, its in your face and intimidating. It appears as though your shouting over everyone, so thats the concept for the first part.
Secondly i came up with the idea of using type hierarchy to highlight key sayings like 'hate' to get the point across. I also thought about highlighting 'animal' and 'human' within the text so as to repeatedly show the difference.
Thirdly i had the idea over using a varnishing technique, overlaying a clear and coloured varnish taking on the idea that its like a huge stop sign. Its red, its a warning and it draws the idea straight away.
Im going to try both techniques and see how they work, and which works best.
