I have been looking into web designs that i find interesting, sites that are aimed at designers and have a fairly simplistic and functional feel which is exactly the sort of thing that i want to achieve.

DC Publication chapter 3

Chapter 3 is all about creating a simple look book style for my publication, looking at applied finishes to branding and products and how they have enhanced the deliverables. This is probably my favorite part of the book, because it will bring together the previous chapters, but also its filled with images and styles that i would love to create.

I am really happy with the way that this chapter looks, its minimal and to the point and i can use it as a reference for finishes in the future.

Dc Publication, specification

I want to use blurb to print my book, so i have to use their format and dimensions to create it. i have previously researched this, and now begun to put the foundations of my publication together. Using simple images and minimal type. I have already mapped out the content of each page, and how i want it to run together.

Woodblock

For my periodic table, i wanted to create something that was extremely tangible and interactive. So i have been looking at creating hand stamps. That way you can interact with the blocks individually or as a set. So i have been researching where you can get these from, as well as creating an idea around the idea of receiving the woodblock stamp as well as a publication, from an on-screen source. That way it begins to contextualise this brief.
