Dylan Thomas Development

I have taken one of the initial trials with the dot pattern and decided to expand it. the main problem with this design is the legibility of the type. Re-visiting some of my initial moodboards i decided that it needed to be more defined.

By knocking back the opacity and adding smaller circles helps define the shape of the letters, whilst at the same time increasing legibility and readability.

After this i experimented with using a different pattern in between the larger circles, using a hexagon instead however when viewed from a distance it just looks like a circle, so i don't think it works as well.

Still, i needed to define the type more, and make sure the eye is drawn to it immediately so i decided to edit the small circles breaking them up, creating a new variation of pattern whilst at the same time increasing visual hierarchy.

There are a lot of things i can do with this pattern, i can transfer it across a range of products whilst developing so that it becomes more organic and will form a striking image. All of this can be enhanced by the finishing.

Compared to the other designs, this is something that i am quite excited about.
