Lulu Designs

// I went through the processes of vectoring the design that i liked. Whilst doing this i realised that once on screent here was quite a significant contrast between concept and visualisation. So i think i need to develop them a lot further to see their potential. I have also decide to combine ideas, this is to try and get similar concepts across within a ridged frame. I have outlined the concepts i like below, from the development i have done, and i think i will be combining this with further logo designs i choose to do.

Lulu notes and labels

I started some initial ideas for my LULU Fashion ;abel brief today. I have already realised that i don't want to do the standard fashion branding brief, instead i want to focus on the deliverables that customers would either receive or interact with, such as packaging elements or shop clothing items.

The main function for this brief is to explore a brand logo but put across a range of original deliverables that utilise process to enhance the design.

So i went through some basic stages, just to get the ball rolling on ideas for deliverables and then concepts to go from there.

// INITIAL CONCEPTS
From this minor brain storming i have come up with the categories to investigate with regards to this brief. Such as the envelopes, the bags and boxes. Within that i have broken down specific elements that i keen to develop in order to push the consumer interaction with the brand.

// MOOD BOARDS

Going through my research i have selected key designs, and ideas that have influenced the idea of the brief and showcase the kind of work i want to produce. i want this brief to be purely black and white, no colour so that it falls around the interaction with the substrates instead of being dazzled by colour.

__

Form this i have then come up with some initial ideas, just jotting things down sketching out things in order to see where im heading with it.

__

From the initial ideas i have whittled them down into some of my favorites, and from there i plan to vectorise them in roder to get a better idea of what works and what doesn't. Im still not 100% sure about them, but i wanted to get started just to get a better feel for the brief and the angle im approaching it from.

Yearbook Meeting

\\| We had our second year book meeting today, it was really helpful because we outlined the the concepts that we have come up with and got to get a feeling of what they were looking for and why. They decided to go with the first two concepts, the whole idea of a narrative and so the main concept that we are working with now is the idea; the concepts - the production - the final outcomes.

We now just need to have a discussion with the group so that we can get a better feel for what to do, and where to go.

Under Milk Wood

These are various covers that i have found for different books, i think they are all rubbish and there defiantly needs to be something done so that it does the tale justice. I thought i could maybe get some inspiration from them but no.

Dylan Thomas Brief

\\| Today i have been through the Dylan Thomas play book 'Undermilk Wood, a play for voices'. I particularly love the title and this is something that i want to work from. I think the main aim is going to be working with themes from the book to inform my concepts and design processes considerations.

I have been through each page and highlighted the main description, this is the area i want to focus on and the extracts i am going to use to inform the designs. In total theres 60 quotes from the 'first voice', and from here i need to narrow it down.

Theres a really specific structure used within plays, and its something i want to incorporate into my designs and ideas somehow.

\\| I have also thought that with regards to the processes that i want to use 3 different variations of processes across the quotes i decide to use, giving me arrange and different finishes that will apply to all.

I know it will be type and process based.

NHS Briefing

\\| We had a meeting today at StMartins with Camilla, before we met i had sent an email of what we wanted to have so that we could get a better feeling for the company. We also needed to establish when we would send in our submission boards, in order to get the ball rolling on the design:

Monday 20th February

This meeting was really helpful because it has outlined key things that we need to focus on with regards to generating the logo. Main points being:
- Open
- Partnership
- Relationships
- Team
- Diverse
These are the main focuses on the idea generation for the future.

Yearbook Meeting

\\| We had a really productive year book meeting today, managed to get 3 solid concepts together combining both out ideas so that when we go to speak to them on Wednesday they can select from the 3 and then we run from there.
We decided to do 3 different levels of concept; experimental, standard, generic.
This is so that we could have a ground to work from and then we can either pull ideas from each or just run with one.

Our concepts are all outlined above.

The next stage is to put boards together for each and then have them ready for Wednesday.
We have also put together some basic dates that we can work to, and they can work to. Just so we can get the ball rolling.
